ABSTRACT
Seeds of wheat were exposed to different doses of gamma rays and sown in wet sands. Analysis showed that eight days after germination the seedlings growth decreases with increasing dose, very rapidly within the first 40Krads and slowly thereafter until the killing dose++ was reached about 500Krads when the shoot and the root failed to develop. Seed storage for about twenty one days after irradiation produced a greater reduction in seedling growth, and a lowering from the killing dose from about 500krads to 300krads. Soaking the seedlings in water for one hour immediately after irradiation improved the seedling growth.

ABSTRACT
This research work was carried out in Ogu/Bolo Local Government Area (LGA) of Rivers State to ascertain extension services on artisanal fishermen and women in the area. A sample size of 140 artisanal fishers and structured questionnaire were used for the study. The data were analyzed using frequency counts, mean and percentage while T-test was used to test the hypothesis at 0.05 probability level. The results showed that majority (57.14%) of the artisanal fishers were married while few (28.57%) were single while those within the age range of 31-40years were 42.86% while those within 21-30years were 28.57%. The experienced farmers (31-40years) and (21-30years) constitute 32.14% and 28.57% respectively of the entire population. Fishers with secondary education as the highest qualification were 42.86% while those with HND/DEGREE qualification were 21.43%. In terms of household size, 50% of the respondents had 6-10 persons per household, 28.57% had 1-5 persons per household while those with above 10 persons per household were 21.43%. Respondents source of production information were mainly from friends/relations (3.14) and extension workers (3.00). The respondents were aware of the various technologies disseminated to them. The respondents agreed to have benefited from the extension services disseminated to them except non access to micro credit facilities. Constraints from the finding were that technologies were complex to comprehend and utilize, there was high cost of inputs, insufficient information and among others. It was recommended that extension packages that revolve around the information needs of artisanal fishers and micro credit facilities should be provided to artisanal fishers to enhance their access to needed information and modern fishing technologies.

ABSTRACT
Before we continue, it will be necessary to offer a balance definition of consumer behavior in order to have a firm grasp of what the subject is all about. Various definitions of this subject matter have been given by various authors. According to Loudon and Della (1984:6), consumer behavior is the decision process and physical activity individuals engage in when evaluating, acquiring, using and disposing of goods and services. In the same vein, Berkman and Gilson (1986:1), said that consumer behavior consists of the activities that people engage in when selecting, purchasing and using products and services so as to satisfy their needs and desires. Such activities involve mental and emotional processes in addition to physical action. There are some important things to note in the above definitions. Consumer behavior is a subset of human behavior. It is that part of human behavior that deals with the purchases and consumption of economic goods and services. Consumer behavior does not only involve physical purchasing and consumption action but also the mental, emotional and psychological processes or activities that precede this action. In other words, all those acts or decisions exhibited by consumers during, before and after actual purchases are parts of consumer behavior. Consumer behavior may or may not result in the actual purchase of goods and services. It may or may not result in consumer expressing favourable word of mouth information about the product brand or services. Consumer behavior is result or goal oriented. It is directed towards achievement of certain results or goals. The goal is usually directed towards the satisfaction of activated needs.

ABSTRACT
Touch Screens have become very commonplace in our daily lives. They are the modern great looking monitor screen that has become a user interface that allows people to interact with a device. Touch screens are now everywhere and are embedded in Mobile phones, Office instruments, Remote controls, Medical equipments, ATMs etc. Touch screens provide a high level of security from tampering, durability from wear, weather resistant etc. This paper looks at the pros and cons of the four (4) different touch screen technologies with their applications. It concluded with the reasons why the capacitive touch screen is widely in use today compared to the other technologies.

Abstract
The issue of women empowerment is a global concern that has led to the United Nations declaration of the first decade for women which signaled the water shed in the international community’s understanding of the role of women in development. This study investigated the role UNDP plays on women empowerment and sustainable development in Nigeria. A random sampling technique was adopted for the collection of data and of the two hundred questionnaires distributed, one hundred and seventy-two responses were found useable which was analyzed using the stepwise multiple regression estimates (SPSS analysis). The study revealed that UNDP plays a significant role on women empowerment and sustainable development as women are becoming more conscious of empowerment, and environmental issues for sustainable development. The coefficient of the multiple regression (R=0.942) showed that a very high positive relationship exist between Women empowerment, poverty reduction and sustainable development. The adjusted R (R2 =0.887) which implies that UNDP accounts for about 88.7% variation in the sustainable development of a nation. It was further revealed that UNDP plays a significant role on sustaining the development of a Nation. It is therefore recommended that the government should come up with a National Policy on Women Development to ensure that all socio-political and economic opportunities are accessible to women.
